Despite Obama’s Factual Error, People Do Die From Lack Of Health Care!

In no other wealthy nation on earth do we have the resources in abundance to treat our fellow human beings with the dignity they deserve but deny them a life simply because they can’t afford to live.

Now, I just want to point out that i partially answered the question earlier by explaining that certainly they can’t compete if the taxpayer is standing behind the public option just shoveling more and more money at it, right? That’s certainly not fair. And so I’ve already said I would not be in favor of a public option of that sort because that would just mean more expenses out of our pockets and we wouldn’t be seeing much improvement in quality.

First, I want everybody to understand the source of our deficit, because if you don’t understand that, then my argument won’t make sense. When I walked into the White House, I had gift-wrapped, waiting for me at the door a .3 trillion deficit — .3 trillion. Now, I say that — (applause) — I just want to — I just want to — I just want to — I say that — this was not — and this is not, by the way, entirely the previous administration’s fault. The financial crisis was so bad that revenues plummeted and all this money was spent in making sure that the banking system did not completely collapse. So all the actions that have been taken — the bank bailout, the auto bailout, all that stuff — that did spike the deficit.

Riding a city bus can lend itself to many occasions for entertainment. Watching the old guy try and hit on the 17 year old on her way home from school. Overhearing the one-up-manship of who was in jail longer or who has been out the shortest amount of time. All can be very amusing for people watching during the commute.

Whether or not prescription drug coverage of any health reform bill which may be passed will attempt to carve out an exception for pharmaceutical abortions is unknown. It is very likely that it will be the subject of vigorous debate when final bills are sent to the House and Senate.

In my opinion, we are not (yet) a banana republic. Ethically, then, no matter whose money Mr. Obama took for what reason, Mr. Obama is free to act as he sees fit in the best interests of the nation as a whole, not of the donor in particular. If the money was a gift.and perhaps that’s a question we should be asking all those big donors, and not just health care.

We’ve elected our first African American president who has been in office about a year now. The polls are already judging him and dropping by his accomplishments of that first year. As usual we expect everything to be fixed by now but it took awhile for our country to become this way. He was slow on his judgment of sending more to war but pushing so quickly to get this health care reform through. The health care reform – personally I could wait on. They are pushing too fast. I feel this needs more time for thought and work.

Many of you will look upon me as somebody who is “taking advantage” of our system. Many of you will have the unfortunate mindset that if I am are getting something for free, I must be taking it directly from you. Please be assured that i paid into the system for years and that i too wish I had made a decent income all these years. Sadly I did not.

Obama Health Care Reform: The Public’s Reaction

The Chief Fiddler speaks and acts without experience to support the veracity of his words. He speaks and acts without ever considering the consequences. Like an adolescent. Like a teenager I wouldn’t trust with the keys to my car. Let alone the keys to our future and that of our children. He has shown reckless abandon for the truth. Joe Wilson was absolutely right when he shouted out in the dignified auditorium of the Joint Session: “You lie.” The one desecrating the great office was not Joe Wilson.

If we conclude that the donations from the health care industry to Mr. Obama were not gifts, but bribes, then we are a banana republic. And if we are, then perhaps we had better rename the nation, something other than the United States of America, which implies a certain amount of ethical conduct, a willingness on the part of the inhabitants to be united, and not subjugated by a greedy despot. (I know, we had that for eight years. But we voted him out, or at least I think we did.) So, anyway, if we do need to change our name to fit the status of banana republic, perhaps we could call our nation Columbia, an historically adequate name if a little close to the name of an existing banana republic. Or maybe Christophoraguay.or Vespucciana.or Hudsonia.

By 2009, PROFIT and POLITICS had become more important than People. Who really cares about the health of a nation when people take a back seat to politics and profit?

If we are indeed a banana republic, then a company (or a person for that matter) can arrive laden with coins, bestow them on someone hungry for coins, and the donor can then expect to have his will be done by the recipient of those coins. In short, if we are a banana republic, then the money filling political coffers is not donations, it is bribes. In such a system, if Mr. Obama took their money, he owes them. Are we a banana republic? Does he “owe” his donors? Is it tit for tat in American politics after all?

Some employers chose not to cover Mileptrx as a part of their prescription drug plan. Because it is a separate class of drug, the employer who sponsors employees’ health insurance may opt out of coverage for religious or social reasons.

The best proof that health care reform is a political act and not economic reform is the failure of its proponents to respond to legitimate economic criticisms.

The Health care Bill requires every American to be covered by health care. Whether or not this is constitutional is being debated even now. There will be a penalty to be paid if someone does not get health care. However, if that penalty is substantially lower than the health care insurance itself, what is to stop people from refusing? Paying the penalty? Getting health care anyway when they get sick? That’s something no one considered when mandating that everyone have this coverage.

Some wondered after it was revealed that almost every terrorist who attacked the united states on 9-11 was from an oil exporting country why the us did not move heaven and earth to get off of foreign oil. Why did we insist on paying terrorists to kill us? Why did we become more slavish to foreigners and their oil? Why did we keep sending trillions of dollars out of the country?
